Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest Christmas charity project run by Christian Reliefs and development organisation Samaritan Purse, which sends around 8.6 million shoebox presents containing practical and fun gifts to needy all around the world.

Cowbridge Comprehensive School put together 250 decorated shoeboxes each containing messages from the children at the school. The boxes left Cowbridge Comprehensive School on the 15th of November destined for underprivileged children in Belarus. For most of the children who will receive a shoebox this will be the only Christmas present they receive.

As well as gathering the boxes, over £400 was raised through a cake sale run by pupils. This was a massive response by Cowbridge Comprehensive School to an often understated problem and those involved offer their heart-felt thanks to everyone that helped and supported the appeal. The fundraising was organised by the following Year 10 pupils - Tilly Hall and Ellis Rosser with the help of Josie Palmer and Luca Bianchi.
