Pupils at the school have been spreading the Christmas cheer this week.
Students from across all year groups within the school demonstrated their kindness and generosity when they thoughtfully assembled 58 hampers for older people and for less privileged families. The hampers were suitably trimmed and filled with fantastic festive items with a Christmas card and photo from the students.
Twenty five senior citizens from Age Concern Rural Communities attended a tea party at the school where a number of the school’s talented students performed a range of musical items followed by the presentation of the hampers. In addition a number of hampers were delivered to the homes of those who were unable to attend. The school has received many comments of support, one citizen commented ‘Many thanks for the invitation to such a wonderful performance. The courtesy and respect we were shown by the pupils and staff will be long remembered.’
Prior to being given to the citizens, students at the school had collated the hampers as part of a whole school competition. The hampers were judged by members of support staff who chose a year group winner, a novelty winner and overall school based upon the hamper content and the creative flair demonstrated. A selection of the overall winning hampers were raffled in the Christmas Concert organised which raised almost £2000 for the School and a number of hampers were donated to the Food Bank.
